Promoting Hellenism through Interdisciplinary Centers for Hellenic Studies

A group of Philhennenes and Greek-Americans founded the American Foundation for Greek Language and Culture (AFGLC) to raise the awareness of the American public regarding the Greek contributions to the very social, economic and intellectual foundation of present-day United States. The AFGLC is a non-profit organization with headquarters in Tampa, Florida dedicated to preserving and enhancing the Greek culture and language worldwide through the institutions of higher education. This will be accomplished mainly by establishing Interdisciplinary Centers of Hellenic Studies (ICHS) at various academic institutions. Initially, five professorships will be sponsored, as well as several endowments.
