The PROMETHEAS society members believe that their lives get enriched by the various events that take place every year. The lectures for example, always of great interest, add to their knowledge and understanding of different topics, and provide them the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with Americans of Greek descent and people who have an interest in the Greek culture in general.

Almost all activities are admission free and membership is only $30.00 per year (students $5.00). Still, with this small amount, PROMETHEAS has been able to make contributions to institutions that promote the Greek language, culture and heritage. PROMETHEAS actively cooperates with other Hellenic societies and organizations in the Washington Metropolitan Area and contributions have been made to the Hellenic American Academy and to the Cultural Center of St. George Greek Orthodox Church, both in the immediate
area.
